Black at Foster

Black at Foster is a collaboration between two organization, ABBS & NABA. In 2019, B@F was established to create a community by bringing black students together creating an environment to help each other grow both personally and professionally.

ABBS

The Association of Black Business Students (ABBS) was founded by Dr. Earl Vinson in 1970, with the aim of supporting and empowering black business students. Originally a graduate student organization, in May 1977, the group changed its name to the Association of Black Business Students to allow for undergraduate students to join as well. ABBS has helped hundreds of alumni in Seattle and beyond navigate the business world by providing networking opportunities, mentorship programs, and professional development resources.  Over the years, the ABBS has become a valuable resource for black students pursuing careers in business. Through its programs and initiatives, the organization has helped many students achieve their goals and become successful professionals.

NABA

The National Association of Black Accountants, Inc. (NABA) is a nonprofit membership association dedicated to addressing the professional needs of its members and building leaders that shape the future of the accounting, finance, and other business-related professions. NABA is focused on helping students of color in these fields create and maintain professional relationships during and after their undergraduate careers. The UW NABA chapter works closely with the Seattle Regional Chapter of NABA to provide professional mentorship and opportunities for its members. Through this collaboration, UW NABA members can connect with experienced professionals in their field, participate in networking events, and gain access to resources and support that can help them achieve their career goal
